What tabhug can do
Each item goes to those who had itThe steak is one person’s, the pizza is three people’s. Two portions count as two shares. Tips, service and discountsA tip from the table or each one’s own, a service charge, a discount — all counted in. Several people paidWhen two or three paid for one bill, note how much each put in. Any currencyA bill in the local currency is converted at the rate of its date — with the bank’s fee if a card was used. Fewest transfers, or one cashierDebts from all the bills come down to a few transfers. Or everyone sends to one person. History of every changeEveryone sees who changed what, and when. A mistake can be undone.
Free, with no small print
tabhug is completely free: no paid plans, no ads, no tracking.
It moves no money and has no access to your bank accounts — it only does the counting. The organiser can delete a room with all its receipts at any time.
What we keep and whyQuestions people ask
Is tabhug really free?
Yes. There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no ads. Everything it can do is open to everyone.
Do I need to install an app?
No. tabhug opens in the browser, on a phone or a computer.
Do my friends have to sign up?
No. The organiser signs in with a code sent by e-mail and creates a room. The others come in by a link or a QR code and pick their name.
How do we split the bill when everyone ordered something different?
Photograph the receipt or type the items in, then mark who had what. A shared dish is split between several people, and two portions count as two shares. tabhug works out each person’s part, tip and service included.
How do we know who owes whom after a trip?
Add receipts as the trip goes. tabhug brings all the shared expenses down to each person’s balance and shows who sends how much to whom — in the fewest transfers, or through one cashier.
Does it work with other currencies?
Yes. A receipt can be in any currency: tabhug takes the official rate for the receipt’s date, or one you type in, and adds the bank’s fee when a card was used.
